I was going to do the typical red brake calipers because I really didnt think I would find a color to body match my truck. Well I did and it looks almost perfect. This paint is a little tricky to lay down, for this orange. The thicker heavier coats made the orange darker the more you painted. If there was a spot you missed you can tell because it's a little lighter. Doesn;t look and with the way the color my truck changes in the light it works out fine. Will be painting a lot of stuff with this paint.

I was looking for a Gold color and read a user review to where the orange on shiny base like chrome looked gold. I decided a day later to wash this paint off and go with an actual Gold paint but believe me when I say the choose was very difficult because if I wasn't so needing the gold color this paint blows it away. This picture has only two coats with no primer. 1st coat is extremely light on a brand new silver akebono caliper. The sheerness is seen in seeing the logo "Infiniti" shine right through (I didn't clean it off or mask it, it is fully sprayed). The metallic look is incredible as is the high gloss. This image is without any clear coat. I kept the spray about one foot away. The caliper was right out of the box and I chose not to do anything to it at all, other than clean it with brake cleaner to remove my finger prints and any other oils (be sure to clean new calipers). After spraying the 2nd coat I left it at work for 22 hours before I decided to try another paint. The other paint I decided to put a primer base first so didn't need to remove the other paint but wanted to test brake cleaner less than a day of drying. As expected, and since it was far from cured the paint came off rather easy but took an hour and lots of brake cleaner to do it. The first coat was closer to gold but I forgot to take a picture of it. It still wasn't as gold as I need. The second coat made it much darker and candy apple'ish. More coats looks darker. I showed it to a coworker who's truck is one shade darker than this and he's going to get a can of this and shoot for the candy apple to match his truck that three coats will likely do.

A few things to keep in mind if you use the metal cast line for parts that get hot and aren't already shiny/chromed: 1. Order of application is engine primer (I did one coat, got 1 can), base (aka ground) coat (2 coats, got 1 can), paint (I did 5 coats but could've done 6 for deeper color, got 2 cans but only used most of one), engine clear coat (2 coats, got 1 can). Ten min dry time between all coats. I went with all DupliColor everything above 2. The base goes on nice and immediately looks metallic. Honestly I could've just clear coated the base because it looked really nice but I wanted that anodized color look. But the paint is a actually a tinted clear so keep the paint coats light or you'll get runs (it's thin). Keep your technique even and about a foot away. 3. More coats equals darker color. One to two coats looks gold, three to four coats looks orange, five to six looks more like the advertised color (burnt orange copper). Anything beyond that would probably start looking a little brownish but could look cool. The pics demonstrate what I did (5 coats of tint). Kind of wish I did six. My application technique wasn't perfect at all but as you can see it doesn't matter with rims like mine.

Awesome color but the paint is MUCH thinner & runnier than Rustoleum & the spray tip sputters periodically. End result looks very amateur. I can do a nearly professional-looking job with Rustoleum, but not with this paint. I'm very disappointed because I absolutely love the color.
