There's some heft to the handle, which is fabulous when you need to stir deep into a pot of stew and move a lot of weight around. I also like that the spoon is deeper than most, so it allows you to baste easily with it, pouring pan drippings over a roast or juicy bird so you get all that delicious mouth-watering flavor bits all over your dinner. To clean it, just use soap and water and maybe a little elbow grease, but that's usually not even necessary because it cleans up well. But you do have to hand wash it, so don't go dropping it into the dishwasher thinking it will come out like new. Like most wood kitchen gadgets, you've got to give it a little TLC and wipe it down with mineral oil from time to time. But if you take care of it, I can't see any reason that your grandkids couldn't be cooking with this same spoon somewhere down the line.

This is a nice, sturdy bamboo wooden kitchen spoon. KitchenAid is a brand that’s been around a long time and I have and really like many of their products. The spoon is a good size, not too big for smaller pots but a long enough handle if I’m using my stock pot. I like bamboo because it’s more resistant to bacteria than other wood. The spoon is also nice and smooth, no jagged edges anywhere. Good addition to any kitchen.
