Great product except mounting. There needs to be holes in the main rail bracket to mount directly to roof racks. The supplied angle brackets are useless, and make the great looking awning look cheap. Also vibration from driving quickly bends the brackets. Luckily I had other mounting kit to make it work.
Had a few small issues mounting this to my roof rack. This pullout awning isn't a fits all application. You may need to custom fit or drill a few holes in your roof rack like I did. Not a huge deal, it's worth it so far.
I had the 4 foot ARB awning, but it was a little too narrow. This one is 5 feet wide. I did not want to permanently mount it to my car, so I made some 3D printed hooks that slide into the grooves on the back-plate of the awning. The awning lives in the garage, but when I am going to use it, I put it in the back of the car. When I reach my destination, I hook the awning onto either of the roof rails. The only area for improvement is the canvas material. It could be a little thicker or reflective, but it works. The hooks are thingiverse number 4553377.
Was really disappointed in this product. Got it on my van very easily and was excited to try it. The legs do not hold the awing up even with weights and tie downs. The legs are pretty much useless which sadly made the whole things useless. Returning this
Ok so I have to say I am quite impressed by this awning. I was a little weary due to the cheap price. The quality of the tarp is great! I have used it in wind and rain with no issues. It was a quick and easy install and mounted right to the side of my cargo basket. The only issue I have with it is the twist locks on the legs. No matter how much I twist them they never seem to lock. This may be operator error but either way it will not be an issue as it will surely be an easy fix. All in all I would highly recommend this awning and would definitely purchase one again in the future! Great customer service. Contacted quickly and was quick to offer help with the leg locks.

Everything about this awning is good. It is easy to open and set up. It has heavy duty fabric. I velcro one side, then pull tight the opposite side velcro to keep the fabric so taught that wind doesnt flutter this awning. The only thing to know that is a little less than ideal, is the legs and horizontal supports/spread tensioners are not a great screw locking tensioner cam. I ened up drilling holes at its highest point between top and bottom tubes, and drilled holes every 6 inches down for 2 ft. I insert a clevis pin into the hole so it stays at the height i set, when tension is pulled down with my tie-downs staked out. That fixed it. I should try and find push point springs to insert in the tubes to lock it at various heights. You can try your legs and see how tight your purchased awning keeps poles from sliding down with down force. I think its not soft enough plastic inside pole assembly to twist lock. But i dont want to seperate the poles to find out.
Everything was packaged well and definitely went on our 2020 Forester pretty easily for test fitting the quality seems to be pretty good for what we paid. Will update with pictures and summary over the next month when summer hits.
Value for price is unbeatable. Had it on my truck now for 2,500+ miles and used it 5-6 times. When driving it's hardly noticeable and when opened, it seems to handle moderate winds just fine (20-30mph gusts). 4 stars because the bolts provided are a tad small and one of mine wound up spinning in the track while I was tightening and I had to cut it off and replace.
