I have tried lots of different old fashioned mixers. I stayed away from the Proof brand for a long time because the price is so high. $40 for a bottle of mixer? Why should the mixer be the same price as the alcohol? Senseless. However, to be fair a lot of other brands sell bottles that are half the size, and therefore half the price. I ordered the Maple Bacon flavor, and I am extremely disappointed. It tastes neither of maple nor bacon, and it doesn't actually have much flavor at all. Definitely need to use a whiskey you really like in this, because there is not enough flavor in the mixer to enhance or even really change the flavor of the liquor. It is not worth it! Back to the 8 oz $20 range choices for me.

Purchased this outrageously priced maple simple syrup because I thought I purchased a maple bacon syrup. Zero bacon flavor but the guests enjoyed the maple syrup flavor. Just save yourself a ton of money and make a maple simple. Same exact thing.

The maple bacon syrup had so little maple or bacon flavor that I contacted customer service thinking I had received their orange syrup by mistake since it had a strong orange flavor and was tinted orange. They responded (in a timely manner, so there's that) that the maple bacon syrup is also orange, so they doubt it was a mislabeled product. Assuming that's true, this is a weak flavored product. You'd be better served fat-washing a spirit with bacon fat and adding some maple syrup. A lot more effort, but way more flavor - and flavor that isn't just orange. Disappointed to say the least.
