For a little more money you can buy the white lids from Walmart or Amazon. These need a gasket to prevent leakage. They don’t include that info in the description, but send them with the kids and tell you that they recommend you use them when filling with liquid. Not worth it, although I do like the colors, I’d rather have something that doesn’t leak and doesn’t need a gasket.

These are high quality lids for wide mouth jars. They seem to be leakproof even without the rubber seal. I don’t use the seals because it makes them harder to open and I think you would have to remove them when cleaning anyway. I’m not using these lids for canning - just for other recipes like cheesecake in a jar or for storing leftovers. They’re great for that!
These are wonderful. They come with a rubber ring to help seal. Easy to remove and clean. We use these for every from broth, salad dressing, herb storage to packing lunches. Really pleased with the different colors.
