I like the simplicity of a temp gun to quickly see if the kids have a fever or not. This one seems to work well if you use it like the instructions say. I tried a few times out of the box and kept getting low temps. The instructions say the gun should be 1-5 cm from the forehead and I was a bit further than that. When I got close to the forehead, it appears that the temps are accurate. I don’t think this is going to be as accurate as an oral thermometer, but it can give an idea if there’s a fever or not. I think it’s handy, but I don’t fully rely on it. Also, it does seem rather plasticky versus a serious piece of gear. My food temp gun feels like it’s higher quality. That said, I think it can probably serve as a general indicator if there’s a fever or not.
