As the title states this is a fun product!!!
Bought the bundle with extra paper and cartridges as a gift. Tested it today! Printer comes with one cartridge already installed and a packet of 10 photo papers. There's an instruction booklet but basically you just snap the pieces together and load the paper shiny side up. The paper is perforated top and bottom, which isn't the edge I prefer but it keeps sticky finger off the print so that's OK. It comes with all the cords and an adapter to change whether you want to dock with android or iPhone. For Bluetooth connection, you will need to turn the printer on and pair on your phone/tablet tho there is no notification that it's good to go except moving to the paired list. In the app the Bluetooth symbol will be red if not connected and green if connected and available to print. The App To do anything you need to download the Kodak Photo Printer App. There's a QR code in the booklet or you can search in the Google play store. It will ask for permissions for: camera, files, location, microphone and nearby devices and will not work if you don't allow all of them. The app is basically the same as the editing available in my gallery app. Using it to get the crop (pretty much the only edit i use on photos) you want isn't as intuitive as I'd hoped but the basic thing you should understand is the print area is set to the 4×6 ratio. You can adjust the crop to a square photo for example, but when you finalize it just before printing what shows is how it will crop if printed as is. You have to manually adjust the photo area in the final print area or it will zoom in to the paper area. So if you want a square, pinch in (making the image smaller) which creates a large white area around however you cropped it just before you push print. (I don't know if I'm making any sense, but try zooming at the print screen before getting frustrated). You can of course do custom crops but it won't have a nice even white border, it'll be more white on top/bottom than the sides or whatever because what you're going for isn't the same size as the physical photo paper. If you add a fun border to your cropped image, you can't adjust to your custom crop ratio/area as the border becomes the edge of the picture. So...that's kinda confusing. When cropping sometimes the editor just....zooms in and there's no real way to make it zoom back out so that was annoying. I didn't play much with other adjustments. I did try to sharpen one image a bit but on my tiny phone screen it's difficult to tell just how pixilated it will get so that's gonna take more practice. There's a very limited amount of fun frames to use, but there's a whole selfie adjustment section where you can adjust for eye shape, skin tone, wrinkles or whatever along with a section for colors, cropping and other usual photo editor fun stuff. With the limited amount of time I've played with this, I think I'd rather adjust through my actual phone photo editor and not in the kodak app. But again, I might just need more practice. The photos Usually we get photos printed at Walgreens from photos taken on android phones. This printer is *significantly* better than the photos we've sent out to print both in sharpness, color balance, and being able to choose centering/cropping. I'm not sure about the cost difference but I'm much happier to pay for printing my own at home even if it's a bit more expensive because the quality is better. That being said, the images often look like they have a "soft" filter on them, so not super crisp. They also seem to lean a bit blue but I'm sure if I fiddled around I could adjust for that in the editor. As I said earlier, the paper is perforated top and bottom so not a clean edge if you decide to tear it off to the 4×6 print area. The image prints slightly above and below the perforations, I assume so there not a white edge on full cover photos (as opposed to the polaroid style where it doesn't matter). The printer itself The gadget itself is a nice simple design: paper in, photo out with a power cord and an on/off button. I haven't tried the dock method yet but it seems convenient for if you don't wanna Bluetooth for some reason. The fully set up printer is about the size of my galaxy tablet. It's very important to make sure there is about 6" on the slot side of the printer! The way it prints, it makes 4 passes over the photo paper adding a color each time with the last pass being the "lamination". This means you need space on the back side for the photo to slide out and back as it prints! Also make sure it's on a smooth surface so the print in progress doesn't get stuck on anything. The printing isn't silent but it isn't excessively loud either, kind of a high pitch whiney noise. I printed 15 pictures total today. I had issues with the paper getting stuck two times. The first time looked like it had tried to pick up 2 pieces of paper and not sure what happened the second time. I took off the paper holder, put the paper back and it worked just fine. It does give a notice on your app if there's something wrong but it's not terribly specific just like "paper issue, won't print" and you gotta figure out the rest. If there's an issue the power button on the side turns red. In the app, the only way to tell if it's good is the Bluetooth symbol turns green. After pushing print, the app shows each color pass as it prints but you can back out of that if you want. I didn't print multiple pictures in a set, I chose each one and printed individually. The printer didn't seem to warm up printing that way, but I understand heat may affect the quality and color of the prints. All in all, as a scrapbook or family album level printer I'm extremely happy with it. It's not gonna be professional quality and pictures taken on a phone aren't typically going to be either, but it's perfect for what I want to use it for and for its convenience. The only worry I have right now is getting replacement paper and cartridges but we'll see how much I actually use it after the nre wears off. Will also update if I have any significant issues.
I'm SO happy I went with my first mind and ordered this in spite of! Maybe it's user error....I don't know however this photo printer is SO PERFECT for what I purchased it for! I have 2 events in December....a toy giveaway for one of my organizations and then my daughter's Sweet 16 cruise. I purchased backdrops for both and plan to take holiday pics for the families at the toy drive then use it while we're on the cruise as well. I'm so in love that I may gift my kids their own for Christmas.
I like that you can use your cell phone and Bluetooth. I dislike the quality of the photo. It’s really not great. I had to return my first one because it didn’t work. Compared to photos printed off at a store these are crappy.

I am sick of having to adjust the colors for each and every picture. Otherwise it comes out way to light and yellow. I’ve used this 3 times and in the third there’s a squeeking sound coming from it. Would not buy again or recommend it.
