To start, the cake was delicious. It is more like a fruitcake than what I expected, but still a nice flavor with a hint of Glenfiddich whisky. It is a dense cake reminding me of a traditional Christmas pudding. It isn’t too sweet, filled with sultanas and a few cherries. I added a bit of whipped cream, but it would be nice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or more traditionally smothered in a brandy butter. I did misunderstand the size information, or maybe that should be more obvious in the description, so I was surprised that it was small. The added US product info sticker said the number of servings was “10.” This is very unrealistic, but since it is a dense cake, it may be good for three or maybe stretched to four people. I did enjoy it, and recommend it for a nice treat adding some British to your Christmas meal.

This is a single serving cake. The fruits used are almost all raisins. I could not taste any Whiskey. The actual cake was lacking in all departments. This is must be a low quality cake that Glenfiddich license's their name to. I'll be sticking with Claxton's.

The important thing to know is you really have to like raisins to like this - it really is mostly fruit, and more than half of that are raisins (dried grapes, anyway). Instead of a balance of fruit and cake, this seems like raisins with a little dough to hold it together. Unfortunately not really to my taste - I prefer other fruits, more nuts or more cake.
