The Spin Clean will not undo damage, but with records that l own, some over 50 years old, filth can sound like damage, and filth CAN be undone. I have a mixture of damaged and filthy LPs. Instead of committing myself to cleaning 20-50 LPs based on directions from the spin clean washer fluid, I made my own, convenient directions for just 5 at a time. I place just one capful directly on the sponges. A pipette may be a more efficient way to spread out the fluid, but no, l will not commit to excessive cleaning. Besides, the dry cloths are saturated enough with five. Definitely a noticeable difference in sound quality. After cleaning, my vintage records were immediately placed in a plastic sleeve. Vinyl records, properly cared, WILL last longer than a human's life!
This made my old and very dirty records sound near new. Most of my records were played for years at rowdy parties with total disregard for vinyl hygiene. The result was ultra-crackly shrill sounding lp's. I've just run about 30 through the spin clean and played around 10, all with significant improvement, some sound new, not even a crackle in the soft passages. Others still have the static crackle but it's greatly improved. After running these 30 lps through the water was very cloudy and the bottom of the reservoir had a significant amount of fibers and brown sludge. I highly recommend this cleaner, beats the price on the other ones out there, and is much better at cleaning the grooves compared to washing by hand with a sponge or microfiber towel and alcohol/h20 solution.
This is exactly what I needed. Doing my homework before the purchase paid off well this time. Cleaned 90% of my records in an afternoon. My records are sounding much better now. My advice is to buy new record sleeves and replace the old crappy paper ones as you’re cleaning. This should help with static issues.

The Spin-Clean Record Washer MKII Complete Kit box shows it having a small 4 oz. bottle of cleaner solution as well as a larger 32 oz.bottle. In the purchase I received it had only the 4 oz. bottle. I just felt like it wasn't advertised correctly. I'm sure the product may be good, I just felt shorted so I sent it back. I repurchased this cleaner to give it a second try. It s cleaning ability is fair to good, BUT the record depth black wheels wear out very quickly. What I mean by that is the black wheels that are movable for different record sizes have pins or little spindles that fit down into side groves of the Spin cleaner frame and as you turn the vinyl to clean it these rotate with the record. Within about 150 -175 45's they wore enough that as I turned the record to clean these would jump out of their grooves and the record would rise out of the solution as well as causing the record to bind up. They both wore and this issue would happen while rotating the record in either direction. It would seem that if they where made out of metal with some weight they may work better, but then again the whole unit is made out of plastic, so the slots that these fit into may also wear leaving you with the same results. It also could be made with some sort of locking device to keep them down and in place. I'm not sure what the answer is, but it sure could be improved, lately I've just gone back to cleaning them by hand.
I had several records purchased from thrift stores and garage sales that were simply unlistenable. But after a few turns in the Spin Clean, not only are they listenable, but many of them sound almost brand new. This product exceeded my expectations by a landslide. In addition, it only takes a minute or two to clean and dry each record. Simple to use and very effective.
