Used 3 times slicing meat, and the plastic gears in the drive stripped their teeth.
It worked well until I jammed the blade and the pinion gear ground away. Fuse protection failed to prevent this. A definite design flaw in this product. Now I can't get a replacement gear. Most of the parts on Chef's Choice website are "out of stock".
Best nonpresional meat slicer I have ever purchased. It comes apart easily so all the parts can be cleaned easily. The slicer motor is powerful and does it job.
Quite usable for home kitchen; certainly not expecting restaurant quality. My main complaint is poor alignment of the blade with the body, resulting in uneven and raggedy slices when thin slices are desired. Still, a home kitchen workhorse.
Much better than the one I just got rid of..

Great slicer that has a fuse. Don’t forget the fuse. It really doesn’t just stop. Change the fuse
This is a great slicer. There are things that need to be aware of. First, buy the noon serrated blade. Depending on what you're slicing you'll end up using both. If you're slicing something like cheese make sure you put it in the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes to get it real cold otherwise the cheese softens too much and binds the blade. It's a great slicer. Easy to clean and for home use it can't be beat.
