My son likes to run away from me because he is very curious and he is EVERYWHERE. However, excited to meet the world and see new things, he runs and the cord pulls him back and almost makes him bounce back and fall on this back. I use the hand one more but to be honest I would just get a really good quality backpack leash because this one is just not all that. I like the wrist option and I like that it has a lock and I wish more backpack leashes had that but other than that it's kind of dangerous and I would not buy it again

So the harness is what works best because they can't reach the buckle. But I was pretty irritated when we discovered it
