My kid loves it
its what you'd expect out of a strong magnet. Put it on the bumper of my '85 gmc and it held on great. Had to "tilt" it in a sense to get it off. Couldn't pull it straight off. The eye bolt is of good quality as well. Only thing I would do is put a silicone cover over it to geep it from chipping the magnet or getting to dirty with small pieces of metal

I purchased this magnet because I wanted to be able to use it to pinpoint a location on the other side of a 2" thick wood floor. A 500lb magnet should be able to lift a "sufficiently large" 500lb piece of steel against gravity, and a magnet of this strength should easily be able to lift 1lb of steel at a distance of 2". It's not even able to attract a small ferrite magnet at 2". I would be surprised if this magnet qualified as even 50lb, much less 500.
