This paper provides a smooth finish, but it is not very durable. The grit wear out quickly, but I can only guess that is because it is such a fine grit. I would definitely recommend this sandpaper.

1,000, 2,000 & 3,000 grits Who would have thought to even use such fine grits. I had never used anything more than 600 grit until I saw some Shaker Oval Boxes sanded (well actually polished) to 3,000. Took my breath away. We just refinished a live-edge walnut table we made some 50 years ago with 3,000 grit. Looks like a mirror. Kinda makes you wonder if you should just admire it or actually use it. We decided on the latter. Started at 220 and worked all the way up to 3,000. On the other hand, Shaker Oval Boxes I made seem to be perfectly happy starting with 1,000 then 2,000 and finally 3,000. These finer grits are opening up a whole new world of wood finishing for me.
