JUNK! do not buy this, died within a week! then I missed the return window by one day. yeah I'm pretty excited about buying crappy products from china then amazon wiggles out of honoring the warranty. zero stars worked great for couple of days, albeit underpowered and barely could lift the water to the top of my top tier of the fountain ( 1/2" tube length of 30"). then I accidentally left it run over night and woke up with it pumping about 15% of the night -before volume......now it wont stay on for more than a second--I figure the low water shut off mechanism failed and now its always shut off.
I believe this will work fine. Bought it just before the draught was declared in my area. Once the draught is lifted I will turn back on the water to my fountain.
I bought this for when we get busy, if the weather was hot it would automatically shut down when the water got too low. It worked for some months, then I noticed it died. If I thought it wouldn't work better than a usual pump, I wouldn't have incurred the extra cost. 🤷‍♀️

so far so good
1. The unit appears to be defective, fully submerged the lights flicker and the pump sputters. Their support is on east coast time, so I'll need to wait to call until it's convenient for them. For a $70 product it seems QC would be a bit better. 2. The cording for the lights is *very* short, far from what you would expect for a 'medium to large fountain' device. Length to the first light is about 2', and the second light is about the same length, I'll probably need to replace the cords, or splice them to get them long enough (only needed a couple more feet). It's odd seeing as the cable to the pump itself is quite long. 3. The fitting for the 1/2 in tubing is very loose. I got this to replace a weaker pump and the 1/2" fitting does not inspire confidence. The previous fountain fitting was quite snug. 4. It came in one of those horrendous blister packs. Just as a final poke in the eye. Rather than call support and get another one which has stumpy light cabling, I'll probably just return this via Amazon.
If they lasted more than one season, these would be great. I had one in a small rooftop deck fountain and after one spring and summer (I take the fountain up for winter and fall,) and one of the lights quit working. I had liked the look of it enough to order another one. Now, I got the fountain out and when turning it on, the pump wouldn't work. I keep API algae control and Ecofix in the fountain so the failure should not be from debris. Meanwhile, the ground floor cheap fountain pump has worked tirelessly year round for four years. This is too expensive to be a once a year purchase.
Perfect little replacement pump for one that died. Out of box and up and running in under one minute. Works perfectly.
My pump lasted just over a year before it would run when first plugged in but only for about 5 secs. Obviously, some kind of shutoff mechanism is malfunctioning. Pump wasn't used that hard. I'll buy another brand from now on.
Low-water Auto shut-off feature works well. Holds up well under constant use. I'd still be using my first one if the missus hadn't accidentally cut the power cord with the garden shears. I store the fountain in a shed right before the first freeze, and bring it back out in the early spring. Even withstood an electrical short when water got into the extension cord.
