As a professional residential and commercial systems integrator, tools are very important to me. I was a little hesitant to purchase this as it was a manufacturer I had never heard of, and there were very few online reviews. Upon opening the package I was very surprised to feel the quality of this little unit. The monitor is bright enough to use outdoors, and the ability to power up the camera from the tester is super handy when a headend isn't trimmed out yet. It will also control PTZ functions of cameras so equipped. The buttons have a durable feel, and the unit comes encased in a dense rubber jacket for the inevitable fall from a ladder. The rechargeable battery is nice, and all of the other little extras included are pretty impressive.

The ONVIF setup can be a time saver when deploying new cameras, and the multimeter is actually pretty good, considering it is a bonus function of the tester. However, the network functions are poorly written, and the battery seems to drain while the unit is stored. The main problem that I have with the network functions is the IP conflict detection. It runs any time we use any of the IP network "stuff" (eg. packet capture) and apparently it's a very simple routine that just detects any time the unit sees packets from a single IP address with different source mac addresses. On the surface, to a non-network person, this probably seems like a great way to detect IP conflicts. However, in most corporate environments it is normal to see multiple mac addresses broadcast for a single IP address (redundant gateways for example). It wouldn't be a major problem if we could either acknowledge each instance and have it ignored for a given address, or turn off the detection completely, but as it is the unit is constantly throwing an alert up in front of whatever screen you may be trying to look at, so the network functions are frustrating to use. It's a shame because things like host detection would be handy at times to have on the meter without having to drag out a laptop. The battery issue could just be me. I have tried turning it off by just hitting the power button, as well as holding the power button down, and, either way, the battery will be dead a week later when I try to use it again. This means that I have to charge it before every use, and the lithium battery is not going to last long. My workaround for now is to keep it connected to a PoE port to charge while I'm not using it, but it would be nice if I could store it out of the way when it wasn't being used. All-in-all, I do like it for what it's good for (camera positioning and onvif setup mainly), but if I had it to do over I wouldn't pay this much for what it is. If the two problems that I mentioned where fixed, it would be a great unit and well worth the price, but these are major problems in my opinion.

This is an excellent testing device. It replaces most of the testers in my bag and provides 12v power to test cameras in the ceiling.
Works great on IP and regular cameras. Provides power for both and is easy to use. I love the bright LEDs when I’m working in a dark warehouse or in a drop ceiling.

It met all my expectations and it's not too big.
This by far is not an overly advanced device but it gets the job done. I've only had it a few days but have used it to adjust a camera, reset IP addresses on preconfigured cameras and to enable DHCP on cameras already placed on the network. I've also used the PoE and OTDR features which worked flawlessly. One of my customers was so impressed with the ability of the device for the price their installation coordinator/lead purchased one and is make the recommendation to their install techs. The cameras I've worked with so far have been from various manufacturers and I've had no problems connection to any thus far.
