just what I needed!
Recently purchased 2 bottles lot #2305333 and they have a strong ammonia odor. I reported this to Nature Made. Smell is so bad I had to put bottles in a zip lock bag to help contain it. It's so strong it made me cough and made my eyes sting! I have purchased and used this product for several years and have never had any issues until now!

I'm concerned about the quality/freshness of these softgels. I purchased this item in July from Amazon, buying 3 bottles as part of a special. All 3 bottles were sealed properly. I finished 1 bottle with no issues. But the 2nd and 3rd bottles emitted a very bad and strong odor of ammonia as soon as I opened them. These bottles are all from the same lot # and don't expire until 4/2019. I've used this product for a long time, and until now I've been happy with it. But now I'm going to look for a different brand.... UPDATE: I contacted NatureMade about this problem by posting a note on its "Contact Us" webpage. The company responded promptly, explaining that these softgels can leak when exposed to high temps or humidity. According to NatureMade's letter, "Once the fill of the soft gel reaches the outside of the capsule, the gelatin soft gel will begin to breakdown and form an ammonia-like smell. We are aware of this situation and are currently looking into alternatives to improve the odor of this product. We are happy to inform you that this does not affect the safety of the product." NatureMade sent me a prepaid return label to send back the bottles. Once I did so, I promptly got a refund check from NatureMade. So I'm changing my earlier review from 1 star to 3 stars, to reflect the company's fast and customer-friendly response.
