My husband and I are on keto, and this thing has already paid for itself with the sheer amount of time it saves us. I can shred a one pound block of sharp cheddar in just a minute or two, which is incredible. All of the components are very easy to clean. My biggest recommendation, though, would be to rinse well each part immediately after use. This way nothing has a chance to stick. Then, after a spin through the dishwasher (top rack) it is good as new.

I just realized I never reviewed this. I've been doing keto diet for over 2 years now and go thru a lot of shredded cheese. I got so tired of using a box grater and thought there had to be a better way. There were so many similar products llke this one on Amazon and I wasn't sure about the durability since it's mostly plastic, but I took a chance and it's been fantastic. This, along with our GoWise 7qt air fryer, are our keto kitchen MVPs. It's easy enough to use for a single recipe, but I tend to shred a bunch of cheese all on one day every 2-3 weeks or so. I buy the big blocks from Costco: Parmesan Reggiano, Pepper Jack, Kerrygold Reserve Cheddar and Dubliner, as well as smoked gouda from Whole Foods, and this makes shredding them so fast. It used to take me about 10 minutes to shred a big wedge of smoked gouda and now takes it less than one. Similarly, the big blocks from Costco take less than 5 minutes. Then I store the shredded cheese in the freezer in Stasher bags. It's been a game-changer. Our kitchen counters are this weird tile with grout so the suction doesn't work on our counter, but thankfully it does work on the smooth metal stovetop. So I just do the shredding on the stove. I haven't tried it on veggies or nuts, but if you use a lot of shredded cheese, it's definitely worth getting.

Dirty use product will be returning to get a clean new one.
The blade plates side out easily. Good when you are changing them out, but not good when you are pulling it out of a cabinet. Works well otherwise.
