Here is my system description: Clear Audio concept with Moving Coil head. I am using Arcam Amplifier. Again on listening preference I felt Clear Audio preamp was a better match than the Schitt Mani. If your turntable is around $1000 or less then Schitt Mani is best.
If you are looking for a budget but high perfoming phono preamp, look no further, this is the one to get. The only thing is that if you buy it from Amazon, you are paying about $20 more than if you buy direct from Schiit Audio.

Simple to use. Worked perfectly right out of the box, Can be used with MM or MC cartridges and has adjustable impedance. Comes set for MM carts. I love that it has an on/off switch. Using ground wire eliminated hum. My Marantz turntable and Pickering cartridge still had some hum with ground wire connected. No such problem with this preamp. Zero hum. Love it.

What a great preamp! We have an extensive vinyl collection and love listening to LPs on our Sonos system. Our previous preamp was buzzy and the sound was not great. The Rega sounds great, tucks in nicely with the rest of the kit, and looks just fine.

I'd been using a $79 Pro-Ject Phono Box since getting a turntable one yr ago. I bought the Rega Fono Mini as an attempt at upgrading a little. But it turned out to be a step backward. The Rega arrived today and I hooked it up and started playing LPs. As reviews have stated - it's smooth... but to a fault. What it does mostly is change the tone of the music. Pianos sound different. Guitars sound different. Performers sound different. But worst, the bass sounds much different - the impact is gone. Everything seems smoothed out except pops and ticks on LPs - these seem to be worse. I'm going to give it a couple days break-in, and if the sound doesn't improve, it's will be returned. *Note to self: do not give so much credence to user reviews. *Note, 3 days later: I have an Anthem 720 receiver, so I am able to set up different speaker/room correction profiles to attach to the various inputs - so, I set up a new profile for the turntable/Rega combo, and made correction adjustments on the profile 3 times. I finally have the sound from Rega passable. It isn't great, but I'd call it good enough for now. *Note, 5 days: I couldn't stand it any longer. Tones just were not right. I removed the Rega permanently. Anyone want it - cheap? I'll stick with the Pro-Ject Phono for now. $175 lesson learned...
I was very disappointed when I connected my old record player to my new amp and couldn't hear the music or was playing. Found this device that converts the output from the record player to the r correct input into the amp. It now works brilliantly. So easy to set up too.
