Fonio is my new go-to. It's gluten free, it cooks in 5 minutes, and it literally goes with anything (tabouleh, grain bowls, hot cereal, just a simple side to a nice saucy braised meat). It's like gluten free couscous but lighter and more nutritious. Yolele is also working with farmers to try to bring economic opportunity to the fonio region! It's really a no brainer for me... it cooks in 5 minutes and it helps people! definitely recommend

I bought this product to try to encourage the diversification of crops - apparently the world eats mainly rice, corn and wheat and this is depleting our soil. Anyway, the folio is easy to cook and quick but the ratio of carbs to fiber is 39 to 1 which is absolutely terrible and bound to send your blood sugar through the roof. I also thought the grain tasted "stale" or "moldy" - I can't explain the taste.

I bought 2 packets of these at my local Whole Foods. Bitter, acrid, rancid smell that increased in potency as I cooked it. Am so sad, as I thought this would be a very healthy complement vegan diet regimen.
As a child, I loved Cream of Wheat, and now have found a healthier version of a hot cereal. It cooks in five minutes, I do add coconut or almond milk to it when done and keep lid on pot for a minute or so, top it blueberries, mango, whatever fruit I have, and then drizzle a small amount of honey or real maple syrup on the top. I enjoy this almost every other morning and am not hungry for several hours. DELISH.

Yes! This $19.00 10oz fonio is $4.40 at Whole Foods. I place the order online, (I usually get 3-4) go to store & pick up! It’s an amazing addition to gluten-free eating that’s versatile and nutritious not to mention taste and fluffy texture. It’s been my go-to for any meal. I crush a little thyme as I stir, come back in 5 minutes. 💕 💕 💕 this w/a little salt, pepper & butter. Yum!
