The antenna flops over and will not stay upright. Connection falls out when moving the radio. Does not work out well with Bose radio/CD player.
This antenna has it all over the stock rubber ducky antenna on my SR30C scanner. Works well both on the kitchen table and on the roof of my car. It is really meant to be a mobile antenna using the ground plane of the vehicle. Contrary to some opinions that it is cheaply made, I disagree. Yes it is light in construction but that is the way most small cartop HAM antennas are made these days. This holds true with the lead cable. Although it claims wideband coverage at 20-1000 mhz, I find that anything below 50 mhz has moderate signal fade. Above that OK. Magnet base is strong and have no problems at highway speeds. For the price you can't go wrong
I use this antenna kit daily it is a great backup or portable option for many different applications. Used mainly with a sdr dongle.
Bought two -- one for a 'dated' stereo receiver and the other for a Bose FM radio. Super easy to install and really improved reception. Great!
I bought this kit to get my RTL-SDR APRS receiver going ASAP. For the price, it's pretty good, but be aware the construction is terrible and it's only really to get you off the ground until you find better hardware. If you're an experienced ham that already has hardware, avoid this. But if you need something right away and are aware of the flimsiness of the hardware, it will do the job. I was able to decode APRS packets from approx 50 miles away after a fairly easy installation using the fleximount on a porch and then running the coax through a window. It took me all of an hour to set up. The bottom half of the antenna fell off in the wind (like I said, it's flimsy) but ironically I got better signal with only half of a dipole. I've already ordered better equipment for 20x the cost, but this did the job. Five stars if it could last at least a month without parts falling off.

Just pick the correct plug, push it in extend the rod and behold, multiple FM radio stations with good reception. Purchased a second one for my spare stereo, same results. Easy to install, pivots nicely and the reception is powerful.
