I was diagnosed with type 2 in 2014. Initially put on a sulfanurea (sp?) that lowered my A1C to 6. BUT you can't stay on those long term. So I was placed on the Metformin and my A1C went up to 9. They added a GLP1 medication and no matter what I did - diet, exercise etc. I couldn't get my blood sugar below 230! Then I added a Red Yeast Rice supplement to my diet and was happy to see a dramatic reduction in cholesterol and tri-glycerides. But still a blood sugar in the 200 range. I'd read about Berberine and had wanted to try it but just never saw it. Finally, I checked Amazon, ordered a bottle (this one) and am happy to report my weight and blood sugar are headed into a downward spiral. It does take awhile to work into your system but yeah - noting else worked and I just don't like putting a lot of synthetic chemicals in my body. Keeping fingers crossed I can go off of Metformin soon.
