Ignore the messaging that this watch is for runners and triathletes. I'm neither. I swim and the watch is great. I had a vivoactive 3 for 3 years and tried the vivoactive 4 for a month. Swapped to this and the difference in price is well worth it.
It rattles when it vibrates on a notification. This should NOT be happening and Garmin has done NOTHING to assist. I have called twice and they’ve asked for a video. I sent the video and have not heard back. Very frustrating.

The whatch is amazing!! The problem is it fails when it could not fail! EVERYTIME Is go running and listening to music, It turns off midtrain and when it comes back, it doesn't have the music app. If I want to listen to music then, Is must turn it off and on again and restart the workout. Then it works for 5 or 10 min and crashes again. Talked to support and they recommended hard reset. Tried it and it did not work. Very dissatisfiied!

I should have stuck with my Forerunner 245. I spent the extra money and purchased the 955 because I specifically wanted to track my triathlon training preparation and events. This watch doesn't do that in a consolidated way, and can't even track a multisport event in the calendar in the same way it tracks for running and cycling. I've been emailing with customer support for weeks and here's the bad: * Triathlon (Multisport) event shows up as "No Race" on watch instead of giving the same metrics it would give for a running or cycling race. THIS IS BY DESIGN, NOT A FLAW. Customer service calls it a "user experience bug" * Customer service goes on troubleshooting fishing expeditions evaluating training plans rather than the problematic events * Customer service couldn't identify that multisport event tracking is not supported in the watch. I had to do my own troubleshooting to figure that out * There are no swimming training plans, only cycling and running * There are no consolidated triathlon preparedness calculations, just individual event * Sleep tracking is horrific. If you're laying in bed it will log that you're asleep * There is no support for creating strength workout activities, you have to choose from the presets they already have. * You can't share workouts with another Garmin connect user * Customizing workouts through the UI is arduous. Garmin should hire the software engineers from Stryd to please come help. If I would have known the 955 was so limited for triathlon functionality, I would have just stuck with the 245. At least Garmin pairs with 3rd party devices that do their job well.
