First time I went to use this to rack my wine it never reached the full siphon. I had to keep pumping the entire batch. Was putting so much air into the batch that it got lots of foam. This means air is leaking between the black seal and the outer tube. Its like taking a straw and blowing bubbles in it it. This is one of the worst things you can do to wine.

This is a great tool for home wine making. The only complaint is that it is a pain to clean but I dont know how they could improve on that. I recommend this tool!!!
The check valve that allows liquid in then seals to keep it in the theif...well, it doesn't seal properly and allows liquid to drip out all over the place. I've tried to adjust it but didn't help. It's a great idea and design if it worked properly.

Its great, but i do small batches now so its impractical for the 1 gal batches, so i went with the 3/8. Once i start doing carboys i will use this again. Made by the same company as my 3/8 and i love the quailty of it so im sure the 1/2 is the same
