So I have no idea about hardwood, I'm sure it works fine, my floors are all tile. I am very impressed with this little cleaner. I have cleaned my hard floors with splashes of warm water and soaked towels in the past, on my hands and knees. No longer. This little steamer is just too easy to use. Takes a little longer no doubt. But not a big deal to me. Super simple to use, pop the mop heads in the wash. So if you have been using a wet jet, this is probably faster, and has to be whole lot more effective. I just wish I had bought a few years back. So for the few bucks this costs, I say buy it now. Not sure about the competition, but I am pleased with the value and performance of the Shark Steam Pocket Mop Hard Floor Cleaner.

I had been looking for a steam mop for quite some time and found this one on sale. The reviews were true! It's a great steam mop, easy assembly, easy to use and deep cleans my floors!
I thought this was a newer version of my old steam pocket, but this can hold only 50% of that one. Its too heavy, so at the end, you are doing the effort for cleaning and move this machine as well, besides its mechanism of pumping steam is inefficient, you have to pump fast all the time to have some release. I seriously regret of buying this.
