I was looking for a way to store stone cabochons which are mostly around an inch or two in diameter and less than 3/8" thick. So very shallow drawers were what I was after. I had no luck finding such a thing, and was looking at map cabinets, which I found are really, really expensive. Then I found these in a major crafts store. They are a near perfect size. I was able to get them on sale for about $25 each, and that seemed quite fair. The full retail of around $50 would seem a bit steep to me. The reason they do not get 5 stars from me is the quality. They are a bit crudely made, and the drawers do not always slide perfectly. But for the price, the quality is quite acceptable. I was not expecting fine furniture. They stack nicely though they are smooth, so could slide off of each other if bumped.
Mine arrived in perfect condition with drawers that open easily and align perfectly. I couldn't be happier, especially considering what I paid. Terrific value.
I bought 2 of these to store pastels. One of the drawers in one of them tends to hang up on the drawer above it, but otherwise pleased. If you use some of the thicker pastels they may have trouble clearing the narrow depth of the drawers. The thickest I have are Mount Vision and they fit, but just barely.

Love this box... Perfect for my pastel sets!! The box is of a good quality, and looks great in my studio. The drawers slide smoothly. I'm considering buying another for my pencils.

I ordered two and they are quite beautiful...except they came without the foam in the drawers, which is a must have if you're storing nice art supplies. I wrote the company and they said that I had been shipped model B, which is an upgrade to A and is what they are now shipping out to everyone. B model has improved wood, joinery, and is sturdier, but has no foam. I was very grrr. Then I found a quick and nifty solution in the form of Craft Foam. Now I have colorful drawers perfectly suited to art supplies. The boxes are very nice and based on the old reviews, I'd have to agree that this model is an upgrade.

Lovely product.
I like this product and it is very useful. It's drawers, however, get bumpy when you close them, and especially when you have pastels (which is its purpose, so there shouldn't be these problems). sometimes it will "squeeze" pastels and crush them, when it should be closing smoothly.

Great price for well constructed drawer storage. Came with foam liner in each of the 3 drawers. All drawers come with four dividers which can be easily removed with a little bit of wiggling to loosen the glue if you desire to remove any of them. With them out you can get a few extra colored pencils in each drawer. With the dividers out I fit 48 prismacolor premier colored pencils in each drawer allowing for a bit of "roll room" for easy removal of a pencil. When opening, the drawers do not stick to each other on this model. I purchased two units and both are well constructed, stack nicely, and open smoothly with out having to do any kind of modifications. If I find that two units are not enough for my storage needs I will absolutely purchase this product again.
