But, since it was new and fixable, I exchanged and now have a great one. Even the old one sounded great though. It sounds NICE, looks beautiful, and feels great. I like the heavy duty strap. For the money, this size is perfect and it is a quality drum.

The drum is of excellent quality with great synthetic strong drum heads. The tiny stick that came with it is ridiculous. Fortunately I had my regular talking drum stick that has a rounded covered head. The small sharp stick it came with can damage the drum heads. Ok for percussion clave. But the drum is high with. I love it! Buy a real talking drum stick

It sounds amazing....exactly what I've wanted since i was a kid and heard a talking drum in the movie "Only The Strong". Where they are doing capoeira with machete's around the fire. Way better quality than expected. Will buy more stuff from Meinl. Their travel pocket didgeridoo is awesome too unbelievable sound for how small it is.
