Hoping the cover protects those areas well enough in the event I do have a mishap and accidentally drop my phone.

I bought TWO sets of these as I have AWD. It took about an hour to get them on as the webbing does not go easily through the device when wet from snow. I drove to the checkpoint and was sent back down the mountain the buy "REAL chains". I was told they fall apart too easily. Guess what? On the way back down two ended up broken and when I pulled over to take the others off..I had to cut them off because they would not release. Just keep with normal chains or cables.
