I bought this unit to replace a predecessor model in my basement wine cellar. It was exactly the same dimensions and has the same operating procedures as the previous unit which for some reason began to not maintain the appropriate 55F temp. The cooler uses a probe inserted in an empty bottle filled with water to ensure it is focused on the wine temperature, not space conditioning. The only disappointment is that it is of simialr design to the previous unit that lastest only 8 years. It is essentially a small air conditioner which operates at a lower temp than A/C units. Like small window A/C units there is no way to add refrigerant if it leaks out - except that the wine cooler costs about 6x as much as a small window unit. Installation was easy as it is the same size. Hopefully this one lasts longer!

Purchased in Oct 2020 and stopped working Jan 2022 - after only a year and a half! WhisperKool would not honor the warranty claiming the reason why refrigerant was leaking into the coils was due to installation. Unit was installed where same model previous unit was installed and worked for 10 years. Do not recommend!

I bought this to replace a whisperkool 3000 from 2005. The great thing is that both units are same measurements. I am so happy that whisperkool designer had the fore-vision to keep them the same, which helps their customers to minimize the work to swap out. Timing of purchasing and receiving this new whisperkool was perfect since we had several scorching days of 110-115 degrees. Everything is working as designed and so far so good, knock on wood. With this unit, my expensive wines are in a nicely temp control environment through those hot days and I have extremely happy. Highly recommend.
I have a vacation home in Tahoe with a WhisperKool xlt series cooling unit. It has worked well for numerous years but needed to be replaced. I bought the new Sc pro to replace it. I just installed the unit into my cellar and am amazed how quiet and efficient it is. The unit does not run very often but is keeping my cellar cool. One challenge i see is the mounting bracket. It is a bit cumbersome to attach to the unit. I think they could design a better bracket. Otherwise it is running great.
The first two units that I have received were both dead on arrival with alarm code COH (Condenser coil overheat?). In both cases I noticed the fan in the back of the unit did not run at all. It took me many phone calls, email messages, and follow-ups with product support. The third unit finally came and luckily didn't have the same COH issue. The whole process took about 4 weeks with two false starts. Needless to say it was very frustrating and time consuming.
Nothing to like. WhisperKool provided no help- didn’t even answer. Amazon followed through, but still had weeks of charges on my credit card with no product. Strongly suspect the “made in USA” claim. This is a sealed unit (riveted” that cannot be serviced and the manual looks identical to the CellarCool unit that also claims to be Made in the USA.” If they are, it must be someone making these for both. Bottom line- do not expect any customer service.
Received very quickly and given as Christmas gift. Working fine so far looking forward to using it more in the future.
I very seldom write reviews but I felt that I had to warn other buyers. I had a Breezeaire unit for around 15 years and bought this to replace it since it was the same dimensions and had the plug in the rear. However, the condenser stopped working in 2 years and the support is non-existent. I would avoid this unit.
